This opportunity is ideal for an experienced educator specialized in supporting visually impaired students within a school setting. The role involves providing consultation services, helping to create an inclusive and effective learning environment tailored to students’ unique visual needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver consultation services for 20-25 hours per week, working directly with school staff to implement strategies and accommodations for visually impaired students.
• Assess student needs and collaborate with teachers to develop appropriate instructional plans.
• Provide training and guidance to educators and support personnel on best practices for teaching visually impaired learners.
• Assist in adapting educational materials and environments to promote accessibility and learning.
• Monitor student progress and adjust recommendations as necessary to enhance educational outcomes.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
• Experience working with visually impaired students in an educational setting.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with school personnel and families.
• Knowledge of assistive technologies and adaptive teaching methods for visually impaired learners.
• Ability to manage caseloads efficiently while providing individualized support.
