Embark on a meaningful contract role supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. This onsite, part-time opportunity spans August 5, 2026, through May 27, 2027, and involves serving multiple locations within the Pickerington area. You'll play a vital part in empowering visually impaired learners to thrive academically and socially.

Your responsibilities include providing direct and consultative services to a caseload of approximately 8–10 students—most in elementary grades with the possibility of occasional support for middle or high schoolers. Caseload size may adjust in response to students newly qualifying for services. You’ll deliver instruction and consultation according to each student’s IEP, attend meetings as needed, and complete all required documentation and communication related to IEP activities. Consistent collaboration with staff, families, and service providers is key as you help cultivate an inclusive and supportive educational environment.

Qualifications and attributes for success:

  • Active TVI (Teacher for the Visually Impaired) certification.
  • Experience delivering direct and indirect services in a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of IEP processes and implementation.
  • Skilled in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families.
  • Comfortable managing a flexible caseload across multiple locations.
  • Effective communicator with strong documentation abilities.
