Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification
• Strong understanding of adaptive technology and Braille instruction
• Previous experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments highly preferred
• Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation
• Strong collaboration skills for working with fellow educators, families, and related service providers
• Adaptable, patient, and passionate about fostering student independence and growth

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with visual impairments to support their academic and functional skills
• Modify classroom materials and lessons to ensure accessibility for all learners
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to integrate inclusive strategies
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of each student’s educational plan
• Monitor and document student progress, providing regular updates to families and staff
• Advocate for student success within academic and community settings
