As an onsite Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI), you'll play a vital role in fostering independence, academic success, and confidence among your students. The caseload consists of 45 students in total, with assignments made based on each TVI's workload and strengths.

Qualifications:

• Valid Texas TVI License required
• Experience supporting students with visual impairments in an educational setting preferred
• Strong knowledge of Braille instruction, assistive technology, and appropriate accommodations
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• Understanding of district- or state-specific requirements or experience, as requested by the director

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments across various grade levels
• Provide assessments to determine eligibility, strengths, and instructional needs
• Create, adapt, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student
• Integrate the use of assistive technology and orientation and mobility strategies
• Consult regularly with classroom teachers to support accommodations and modifications
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all state and district guidelines
