Qualifications & Experience:

• Current and active North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license or certification is required
• Experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments in a school setting is highly valued
• Strong communication and organizational skills, enabling effective collaboration with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to assess, plan, and implement individualized instructional strategies for learners with a range of visual needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction and accommodations to students with visual impairments (caseload: approximately 20-23 students)
• Conduct assessments and develop goals to meet each student’s unique educational needs
• Consult and collaborate with general education teachers and other staff to support inclusive practices
• Adapt and/or create accessible materials, leveraging assistive technologies as appropriate
• Maintain accurate records, document student progress, and participate in IEP meetings as required
