You'll play an essential role in their academic journey and daily growth.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid and active North Carolina Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) license/certification required
  • Experience working with visually impaired students preferred
  • Ability to tailor instruction for learners with diverse needs and abilities
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with staff, students, and families
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in adaptive technologies and accessible materials
  • Comfortable committing to a 37.5-hour week on campus

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
  • Deliver direct instruction in expanded core curriculum areas, including Braille, assistive technology, and orientation/mobility
  • Consult with classroom teachers and specialists to ensure accessible learning environments
  • Provide ongoing assessment and documentation of student progress
  • Advocate for student needs within multidisciplinary IEP teams
  • Support families in understanding resources and reinforcing learning strategies at home
