In this role, you’ll travel between schools, adapting curriculum and materials, advocating for student access, and collaborating with general educators and families to meet each learner’s needs. Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification with endorsement in Visual Impairment
- Experience working with visually impaired or blind students in educational settings preferred
- Ability to develop and implement IEP goals tailored to individual students
- Skills in utilizing assistive technologies and adapting learning materials
- Flexibility and strong communication for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Willingness to travel between multiple school sites as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to K-12 students with visual impairments across multiple schools
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to support educational goals
- Assess student needs, recommend adaptive tools, and monitor ongoing progress
- Participate in IEP development, meetings, and student planning
- Advocate for access, inclusion, and accommodations for diverse learners
