The position requires mobility within the district, serving various school locations within approximately 45 minutes of Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of visually impaired students grades K-12
  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to implement effective teaching strategies
  • Utilize assistive technologies to enhance student learning and accessibility
  • Provide training and resources to families regarding visual impairment and educational support

Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Willingness to travel within the district to serve students in various schools
  • Open to new professionals entering the field and recent graduates
  • Open to out-of-state candidates seeking contract opportunities
