This full-time, onsite contract opportunity offers the chance to use your specialized expertise to help shape the educational experiences and outcomes for students who are visually impaired.

As a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI), you will work with a dedicated team, serving a caseload that is thoughtfully divided according to each teacher’s strengths and the needs of approximately 45 students. You'll collaborate closely with other professionals and families to develop and implement individualized education plans and facilitate access to the general curriculum.

Desired Qualifications:

• Current and valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) in the state of Texas
• Compliance with all district and state-specific requirements and clearances
• Experience in individualized instruction for visually impaired students strongly preferred
• Ability to perform functional vision assessments and provide adaptive strategies and materials
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Position Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and educational support to students with visual impairments
• Adapt curriculum materials and classroom environments for accessibility
• Consult with classroom teachers, support staff, and family members to ensure holistic student growth
• Monitor, document, and report student progress
• Actively participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of students’ educational plans
• Travel to school sites, if required, within the district
