Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired in a school setting
• Strong knowledge of Braille instruction, assistive technology, and curriculum modification
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with students, teachers, and families
• Adaptable and solution-oriented mindset

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized instructional plans for students with visual impairments
• Provide direct and consultative services to support students’ academic and functional needs
• Teach Braille reading and writing, orientation and mobility skills, and the use of assistive devices
• Adapt classroom materials to accessible formats and recommend technology that enhances learning
• Participate in student assessments, IEP meetings, and progress monitoring
• Offer training and resources to school staff and families to better support students’ independence
