A contract position is available for a Teachers for the Visually Impaired to support students within the Denver area school district for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role requires a skilled educator with a background in working with visually impaired students, committed to delivering specialized instruction and support.
Location:
- Littleton, CO, with assignments potentially across multiple schools in the Denver area.
Assignment Details:
- Start Date: August 6, 2026
- End Date: May 26, 2027
- Hours per week: To Be Determined
- Caseload and school assignments will vary based on district needs and may be full-time or part-time.
- Age Group: Varied, depending on assignments.
Qualifications:
- Active CDE Certification is required.
- Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI).
- Completion of district-required background check and fingerprinting prior to employment.
- Experience working with visually impaired students is strongly preferred.
- Flexibility to adapt to assignment changes and potential shifts between schools.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to visually impaired students, ensuring accessibility and engagement.
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and support services to develop individualized education plans.
- Utilize specialized teaching strategies and technologies to enable student participation in the curriculum.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional approaches accordingly.
- Participate in district meetings and professional development opportunities as required.
