Bring your expertise in visual impairment education to a dynamic, district-wide role for the upcoming academic year in the Denver area! As a teacher for students who are visually impaired, you’ll play a crucial part in supporting learners from early childhood through high school, ensuring each student fully accesses their educational opportunities.

In this full-time contract position, you will:

Qualifications & Experience:

• Hold an active Colorado Department of Education certification with an endorsement in “Special Education Specialist – Visual Impairment (ages 0-21)”
• Possess a master’s or higher degree in special education–visual impairment or equivalent
• Complete required background checks and fingerprinting prior to the school year
• Preferred: Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Certification (candidates with this certification will be given preference)

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct and interpret specialized vision-related assessments to guide educational planning
• Develop and implement individualized education programs tailored to students’ unique visual needs
• Provide direct, specialized instruction and support, teaching essential skills for students with visual impairment, blindness, and deaf-blindness
• Deliver orientation and mobility training in both school and community settings
• Adapt classroom environments and learning materials, ensuring accessibility for all students
• Collaborate with families, school staff, and district leaders to foster student growth and celebrate progress
• Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to ongoing school compliance
• Dedicate yourself to completing the full school year, building lasting relationships and educational continuity
