Inspire and support students by bringing your expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired or a Visually Impaired Teacher to a contract opportunity in a school setting near Los Angeles, CA. Ideal candidates are passionate about creating accessible learning environments and making meaningful impacts on students’ lives. Those with dual credentials as both VI teacher and Orientation & Mobility (O&M) specialist are especially encouraged to apply, as the school is open to multifaceted professionals who can address a range of student needs.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Valid state teaching certification in Visual Impairment (VI)
  • O&M certification highly valued (dual credentialed professionals preferred)
  • Experience delivering instruction to K-12 students with visual impairments
  • Strong knowledge of Braille and adaptive technology
  • Collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
  • Excellent communication, organization, and advocacy skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess student needs and develop individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Deliver adaptive instruction aligned with state standards
  • Teach Braille, assistive technology, and daily living skills
  • Provide Orientation & Mobility instruction (if certified)
  • Support classroom teachers and families with resources and strategies for inclusion and accessibility
  • Collaborate with related service providers
