Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Additional Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Specialist credentials highly valued

  • Knowledge of educational best practices for supporting students with visual impairments
  • Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
  • Problem-solving skills and a compassionate, student-centered approach

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver effective instructional plans tailored to individual student needs
  • Provide direct instruction in academic content, braille, and assistive technology
  • Support students’ independence, orientation, and mobility within school environments
  • Collaborate on IEP development and implementation
  • Work closely with educational teams, sharing resources and strategies
  • Serve as an advocate for student needs in various school settings
