Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with visual impairments in the Lutherville Timonium and Westminster, MD areas. This position offers the chance to serve as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) for the 2025-2026 school year, making a direct impact on learners from Pre-K through 12th grade. Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current Maryland teacher certification or licensure with TVI (Teacher for the Visually Impaired) endorsement
  • Experience in school settings, preferably serving students with diverse visual needs
  • Understanding of specially designed instruction as outlined by IEPs
  • Familiarity with caseload management (20-25 students) across broad age groups
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
  • Comfortable providing services in person

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting materials and methods to support individual learning plans
  • Participate in evaluations and contribute to ongoing progress monitoring
  • Design, implement, and document specially designed instruction in accordance with IEP guidelines
  • Work closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to foster inclusive educational experiences
  • Flexibly manage assignments within various school sites (assignments TBD based on need)
  • Maintain up-to-date records and ensure compliance with state and federal education standards

What’s Offered:

  • Consistent, full-time school schedule (typically 7:30–3:00, 8:00–3:30, or 9:00–4:00, depending on assignment)
  • Contract runs from August 18, 2025, through June 30, 2026
