Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a contract role serving schools in the area. You'll collaborate with educators and families, offering specialized instruction that meets the unique learning needs of visually impaired students.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Certified as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Previous experience working with visually impaired students in school settings preferred
• Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive curriculum materials
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a multidisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting lessons and materials as needed
• Conduct vision assessments and assist in determining appropriate classroom accommodations
• Work closely with general education teachers to modify classroom activities and support inclusion
• Train staff and families in the use of adaptive devices and strategies
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing progress monitoring and documentation
• Serve as a resource for families and school personnel regarding best practices in visual impairment education
