Key Qualifications:
- Possess current Georgia PSC certification with a Vision Impairment/TVI endorsement
- Strong understanding of students’ academic, accessibility, and assistive technology needs related to visual impairment
- Experience collaborating with classroom teachers and multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of IEP implementation and accommodations for visually impaired students in middle school settings
- Professional commitment to supporting student progress and school inclusion
Responsibilities:
- Provide two individualized 30-minute instructional sessions each month, tailored to a single 6th-grade student’s IEP
- Collaborate with the student’s teachers and school staff, advising on best practices for accommodations and accessibility
- Ensure all instructional materials and classroom activities are adapted for full accessibility
- Consult on and support the use of assistive technology and accessibility strategies
- Regularly monitor, document, and communicate student progress and vision-related needs
- Maintain compliance with all special education regulations and IEP service requirements
