Make a meaningful difference as a Vision Impairment Teacher supporting the growth and success of a 6th-grade student. This part-time, contract opportunity spans through the end of May 2026, offering a flexible way to continue your impact in education. The role involves working closely with a single student, providing two individual 30-minute sessions each month, designed around their unique strengths and needs.

Your expertise will help shape accessible instruction and ensure the student thrives in an inclusive learning environment. You’ll serve as both an instructor and collaborative consultant, empowering the student and working alongside classroom educators to implement effective strategies and accommodations.

Qualifications:

  • Current Georgia PSC certification with the Vision Impairment/TVI endorsement
  • Experience supporting students with visual impairments, especially in a K-12 setting
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and up-to-date accessibility accommodations
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with educators, staff, and families
  • Understanding of IEP process and compliance requirements for vision services

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct, specialized vision instruction in accordance with the student’s IEP
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to create accessible curriculum and classroom experiences
  • Consult on assistive technology and develop strategies to remove barriers
  • Monitor and report on student progress, making tailored recommendations for ongoing support
  • Ensure all accommodations and IEP services are provided as required
