Qualifications & Requirements:
- Active Massachusetts Visually Impaired Teacher License
- Demonstrated experience or coursework in education for students with visual impairments
- Strong knowledge of Braille and adaptive technologies
- Ability to collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Flexibility to tailor instructional plans to meet individual student needs
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized instruction to students with visual impairments in accordance with IEPs
- Provide Braille instruction and orientation/mobility training as needed
- Adapt curriculum materials and create accessible classroom resources
- Assess student progress and modify approaches based on ongoing evaluation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic student support
- Offer guidance and support for families and general education teachers
- Maintain clear documentation and participate in appropriate professional development
