This full-time, itinerant contract position offers the flexibility of working either in person or virtually, serving students in the Marlin, WA area. Your expertise will empower students with visual impairments to thrive academically and develop essential life skills, while collaborating with educational teams and families.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Washington Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) licensure required
  • Proven experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired in academic settings
  • Strong knowledge of adaptive technology, Braille literacy, and individualized instruction techniques
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Comfortable supporting multiple schools or districts as an itinerant educator
  • For virtual candidates, strong technical proficiency and home office setup is a must

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction to meet the individualized education plans (IEPs) of students with visual impairments
  • Assess student progress, prepare reports, and adjust goals in collaboration with other educators and families
  • Consult with classroom teachers and support staff to provide tools and strategies for student success
  • Ensure students have access to specialized materials, including large print, Braille, or audio resources
  • Implement adaptive technology as part of instruction
  • Provide professional guidance to staff regarding accommodations and modifications for visually impaired learners
