Teacher for the Visually Impaired - Marlin, Washington

This full-time, contract position is available for the 2026/2027 academic year, with flexibility for both in-person and virtual teaching. As an itinerant professional, you'll travel to multiple sites or connect with learners remotely, providing specialized instruction that empowers students with visual impairments to succeed academically and personally.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Washington TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) licensure required
• Previous experience in a school setting or with K-12 students, preferred
• Strong knowledge of instructional strategies and technology for students with visual impairments
• Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, families, and IEP teams
• Comfort with both in-person and virtual/remote instruction
• Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to meet the unique needs of students with visual impairments
• Conduct assessments and contribute to individual education plans (IEPs) as an integral team member
• Teach compensatory skills, including Braille, orientation and mobility basics, assistive technology, and self-advocacy
• Provide on-site or remote support and consultation to general education teachers and staff
• Maintain documentation related to student progress, goal achievement, and service delivery
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment across various school locations or digital platforms
