Responsibilities include:

• Delivering instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum and materials to meet individual needs.
• Developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Assessing students’ functional vision and learning environments to recommend necessary accommodations.
• Providing orientation and mobility training, when necessary, and teaching adaptive skills for life and academics.
• Consulting with teachers, staff, and families to promote accessibility and inclusion in the classroom.
• Documenting student progress and maintaining detailed records as required.
• Participating in student evaluations, IEP meetings, and school-based team discussions.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Valid certification to teach students with visual impairments or eligibility for certification.
• Previous experience as a teacher for the visually impaired in a school setting preferred.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible learning environment.
• Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic school environments.
