Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education of the Visually Impaired or a related field
• Valid state certification or endorsement as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
• Previous experience working with students who are blind or have low vision in a school setting
• Proficiency in Braille instruction, assistive technology, and adaptive curriculum development
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with students, staff, and families
• Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom environment

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments in both individual and group settings
• Develop, adapt, and implement specialized instructional materials, including Braille and large print
• Assess student needs and coordinate with general education teachers, specialists, and families
• Support access to the curriculum through the integration of assistive technology
• Participate in IEP development, progress monitoring, and regular reporting
