Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid teaching certification for the Visually Impaired (TVI) or eligibility in Delaware
• Experience providing instruction to students with visual impairments in K-12 settings preferred
• Strong communication and collaborative skills to work with IEP teams, families, and staff
• Proficiency with Braille, assistive technology, and other adaptive tools
• Ability to assess and document student progress, create goals, and deliver specialized instruction

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to each student’s needs
• Modify and adapt educational materials for accessibility, including textbooks, tests, and classroom tools
• Teach students essential life and orientation & mobility skills, as appropriate
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to support student learning
• Monitor and document progress toward IEP goals and adjust strategies as needed
• Provide training and consultation to educational staff regarding best practices for supporting visually impaired students
