An exciting contract opportunity awaits educators passionate about supporting students with visual impairments in a welcoming school environment. A dedicated Onsite Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) is needed for the upcoming academic year, with a flexible start to best align with both your professional interests and student needs. This full-time role (with possible part-time consideration) runs from August 3rd, 2026, through May 21st, 2027, with the possibility of additional planning days pre- and post-academic calendar.
Key qualifications and experience:
• Valid Georgia Educator Certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVIs)
• Previous experience working with students with visual impairments preferred
• Comfortable documenting services through daily logs
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with school teams and adapt to diverse student needs
• Willingness to discuss preferred age groups and experience levels during the interview phase
You will:
• Deliver direct and consultative instruction to students with visual impairments
• Create and modify educational materials to support student access and learning
• Maintain accurate daily log documentation of services provided
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement IEPs
• Adjust teaching approaches based on student progress and feedback
• Participate in relevant meetings, planning, and professional development as required
• Communicate regularly with families and staff to ensure consistent support
