A K-12 school in Minneapolis, MN is seeking qualified Teachers for the Visually Impaired to support students throughout the contract school year (CSY). This role involves providing specialized instruction and services to visually impaired students, helping them achieve academic success and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized educational plans tailored to the needs of visually impaired students.
  • Provide direct instruction in academic subjects, orientation and mobility, and assistive technology use.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to support student learning and accessibility.
  • Conduct assessments and monitor student progress regularly.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with educational standards.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
  • Experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments.
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive teaching methods.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a school team.
  • Commitment to promoting independence and self-advocacy among students.
