Make a difference in the lives of students by bringing your expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to a collaborative educational team. This contract role supports an education co-op that serves up to 15 districts, offering a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to impact a wide range of learners. With a 1.4 FTE contract for the 26/27 school year beginning on August 17th, you’ll help foster independence and educational growth among students with visual impairments.

Key Qualifications:

  • Certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired or eligibility for certification
  • Prior experience working with students who are visually impaired in a school setting
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with general education staff, families, and related service providers
  • Understanding of assessment strategies and assistive technologies tailored to students with visual impairments
  • Ability to travel between campuses within the co-op as needed

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized educational services to students with visual impairments across multiple districts
  • Conduct assessments, develop and implement IEPs, and monitor student progress
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and provide accessibility solutions
  • Support the use of specialized equipment and assistive technology
  • Empower students to achieve greater independence in academic and daily life skills
  • Offer consultation and training for staff and families to maximize student success
