Itinerant Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)

Soliant is seeking 2–3 qualified and experienced Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVIs) to provide specialized educational support throughout the 2026–2027 school year.

This opportunity is ideal for a dedicated TVI who is passionate about supporting students with visual impairments and helping ensure they have meaningful access to instruction, educational materials, and the school environment.

Assignment Details

Position: Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
Schedule: Full-Time
Hours: 30–35 hours per week
School Year: 2026–2027
Setting: In-person, school-based, itinerant
Caseload: To be discussed during the interview process
Pay Rate: $45-50/hr, depending on experience

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction and educational support to students with visual impairments across multiple schools within the district.
• Develop and implement individualized instruction based on each student's unique visual and educational needs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, administrators, and related service providers.
• Support students in accessing classroom instruction, educational materials, and school activities.
• Provide consultation and support to teachers and school staff regarding appropriate accommodations and instructional strategies.
• Monitor student progress and contribute to the development and implementation of IEP goals and services.
• Travel between multiple schools throughout the district as needed to provide services.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records related to student services and progress.
• Promote an inclusive learning environment that supports student participation, independence, and academic success.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) credential/certification appropriate for the state.
• Experience providing educational services to students with visual impairments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of instructional strategies and accommodations for students who are blind or visually impaired.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple school settings.
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in person throughout the district.
• Ability to manage and prioritize services across multiple schools and student needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in a school-based setting.
• Experience collaborating with IEP teams, classroom teachers, and related service professionals.
• Familiarity with assistive technology and accessible educational materials.
• Experience providing services across multiple schools or campuses.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills for managing a district-wide caseload.
