Key Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with students who have visual impairments in K-12 settings
• Solid understanding of Braille instruction, assistive technology, and adaptive equipment
• Able to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with educators, families, and support staff
• Flexible, organized, and passionate about inclusive education
• Comfortable working in a contract-based role for the duration of the school year

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction in core academic subjects, compensatory skills, and orientation & mobility as needed
• Adapt teaching materials and methods to meet individualized student needs
• Conduct functional vision assessments and contribute to IEP development and progress monitoring
• Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to create accessible learning environments
• Guide students in the use of assistive technology and specialized learning devices
• Engage in ongoing communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress
