Teacher of Visually Impaired in Moreno Valley, CA

You’ll collaborate with educational staff, families, and service providers to develop effective strategies and ensure student success.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current, active credential or license as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Comprehensive understanding of the needs of students with visual impairments
• Proficiency in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Experience with adapted instructional materials, assistive technology, and orientation & mobility skills
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with staff and families

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct, individualized instruction to students with visual impairments in both classroom and resource settings
• Conduct vision-related assessments and participate in IEP meetings, providing expertise in areas such as Braille, large print, assistive technology, and orientation/mobility
• Develop and modify lesson plans and instructional approaches according to student needs and goals
• Advise and train teachers and support staff on best practices for accommodating visually impaired learners
• Communicate progress and strategies with families, fostering inclusive home-school partnerships
• Participate in ongoing professional development related to visual impairments and special education
