As an itinerant TVI, you’ll serve a diverse, school-aged caseload, traveling to multiple campuses to assess needs, provide direct instruction, and collaborate with staff. This position demands adaptability, empathy, and expertise in accessible teaching practices—making every day rewarding and unique.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification with a specialization in Visual Impairment
  • Previous experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Braille, adaptive technology, and accommodations for visually impaired learners
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between schools within the county

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess student needs and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Provide direct and consultative instruction to visually impaired students
  • Train school personnel in accommodations and modifications
  • Advocate for students’ access to curriculum and school resources
  • Document progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with educational standards
