Make a meaningful impact by serving students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in Delaware County, PA. This contract opportunity offers the chance to provide specialized instruction and support to school-aged students across a variety of educational settings. With an itinerant caseload, you’ll work closely with students, educators, and families in Broomall and surrounding areas to help learners with visual impairments thrive academically and socially.
Desired Qualifications:
- Pennsylvania certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with school-age children with visual impairments
- Familiarity with adaptive technologies and materials for visually impaired students
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt lessons to meet diverse learning needs and environments
- Willingness to travel throughout Delaware County as required
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments
- Assess student needs and develop individualized instructional plans and materials
- Collaborate with general education teachers, special educators, and other specialists to ensure accessibility and inclusion
- Support students in accessing the core curriculum and functional life skills
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate documentation
- Serve as a resource for staff and families on visual impairment strategies and resources
