This full-time, itinerant position offers flexibility for in-person or virtual service delivery, allowing you to bring your expertise to a supportive educational environment.

Your background will empower you to tailor lessons and materials, assess student needs, and work closely with teachers and families. Your knowledge of adaptive technology, curriculum modification, and the unique needs of visually impaired learners sets you up for success.

Qualifications:

  • Current Washington State TVI licensure required
  • Experience delivering effective instruction to visually impaired students in educational settings
  • Proficient in developing and implementing IEP goals and appropriate accommodations
  • Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive materials
  • Comfort with either virtual or in-person teaching models

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and consultation services to students with visual impairments
  • Travel between school sites as an itinerant teacher (if working in person)
  • Assess student strengths, needs, and progress, adapting teaching strategies accordingly
  • Develop and monitor individualized learning plans in coordination with IEP teams
  • Train and support staff in best practices and adaptive resources
  • Advocate for accessibility and inclusion across school environments
