A part-time position is available for a qualified teacher specializing in visual impairments to support students during the 2026/2027 school year. This opportunity is requiring in-person attendance and commitment to approximately 8-20 hours per week.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments to enhance their learning and independence.
  • Collaborating with general education teachers, families, and support staff to adapt curriculum and materials.
  • Utilizing assessment tools to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Implementing assistive technology and teaching orientation and mobility skills.
  • Participating in meetings and professional development focused on visual impairment education.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold valid California Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) licensure.
  • Experience working with visually impaired students in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to develop and modify instructional materials and strategies.
  • Commitment to student-centered teaching and fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Compensation for this position ranges from $35.25 to $58.25. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
