Qualifications:

  • Ability to adapt curriculum and classroom materials for accessibility.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and documentation abilities.
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for problem-solving in dynamic educational settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments.
  • Adapt and modify instructional materials using braille, large print, tactile graphics, and assistive technology.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to support inclusive instruction and provide direct and consultative services.
  • Assess students' progress and adjust interventions as needed to promote success across academic and functional areas.
  • Offer guidance and training for staff and families on accommodations and specialized equipment.
  • Create a supportive environment that encourages independence and self-advocacy among students.
