Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Prior experience working with school-age children (preferred)
• Solid understanding of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive devices
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
• Ability to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Flexibility, creativity, and a commitment to inclusive practices

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work directly with students who are visually impaired or blind, providing specialized instruction and resources
• Assess and monitor progress, adapting materials and teaching methods accordingly
• Consult and partner with classroom teachers to foster accessibility and inclusion within the general education environment
• Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings for students on your caseload
• Advocate for and implement best practices in visual impairment education
• Stay up to date with the latest developments in assistive technology and educational tools
