Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Previous experience working with students with visual impairments preferred
• Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive materials
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with educators, families, and support staff
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible learning environment

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to students with varying levels of visual impairment, both individually and in small groups
• Develop and modify curriculum materials to accommodate unique learning needs
• Conduct assessments and monitor student progress, making data-driven instructional decisions
• Provide training and support to classroom teachers and families regarding accommodations and assistive technology
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the multidisciplinary team approach
• Advocate for student accessibility and independence within the school community
