Desired Qualifications:

• Active TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) certification in Virginia
• Proven experience in supporting students with visual impairments within a school setting
• Proficiency in teaching and utilizing Braille
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt instructional materials for students’ individual needs
• Experience with assistive technologies and accessible resources is highly valued

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging instruction in Braille and accessible content to students with visual impairments
• Collaborate with general education staff, families, and support specialists to optimize learning environments
• Assess student abilities to tailor agencies, support plans, and IEP goals
• Recommend and implement assistive technology and visual aids when needed
• Track student progress and perform data-driven adjustments to instructional approaches
• Advocate for student accessibility and independence within the educational setting
