Utilize your expertise to design accessible curriculum, implement individualized education plans, and provide critical guidance to students, families, and staff.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
• Experience working with students who are blind or low vision (K-12 preferred)
• Proficiency in Braille instruction, assistive technology, and accessible educational materials
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
• Dedication to fostering independence and academic growth

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and support to visually impaired students in accordance with IEP goals
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to adapt materials and ensure full participation
• Assess and monitor student progress; document and communicate results with IEP team members
• Provide training in the use of assistive technologies, orientation, and mobility as appropriate
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to help shape individualized plans
• Serve as a resource and advocate for visually impaired learners within the school community
