A committed Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) is needed on a part-time, contract basis for the 2026-2027 school year. Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Experience or strong interest in K-12 educational settings
- Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive materials
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness to travel between schools throughout the week
In this itinerant position, you'll:
- Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments, partnering with classroom staff and parents
- Develop and adapt instructional materials to meet each student’s unique needs
- Assess visual functioning and monitor student progress
- Support the integration of assistive technology and mobility strategies
- Contribute to multidisciplinary IEP teams and ongoing student evaluations
- Educate staff members on best practices for fostering access and inclusion
