Qualifications and Experience:

• Current or eligible state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Comprehensive knowledge of braille, assistive technology, and instructional strategies for visually impaired students
• Previous experience working in a school or educational setting, preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, staff, and families
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt instruction as needed
• Willingness to stay updated on best practices and participate in ongoing professional development

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments, both individually and in group settings
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and educational teams to adapt curriculum and learning materials
• Assess student needs, track progress, and contribute to eligibility and IEP meetings
• Teach braille, orientation and mobility, and use of assistive technology as necessary
• Serve as a resource for staff and families regarding strategies and tools for supporting visually impaired learners
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with district and legal requirements
