Desired Qualifications:

• Valid California teaching credential for Visual Impairments or eligibility to obtain one
• Experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired in school settings
• Proficient in Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive teaching strategies
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to develop and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments across grade levels
• Collaborate with general education staff to adapt curricula and implement accommodations
• Assess student needs and progress to inform appropriate educational plans
• Advocate for and facilitate access to necessary materials, tools, and technology
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal setting and progress monitoring
• Consult with families to support continuity of learning in school and at home
