Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience creating and implementing individualized educational plans (IEPs)
• Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams, parents, and caregivers
• Proficiency in Braille instruction, assistive technologies, and adaptive strategies
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Compassion and patience working with diverse student populations

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Provide direct and consultative support to students with visual impairments
• Assess student needs and develop tailored instructional materials and strategies
• Train and support staff in using accessible resources and adaptive technologies
• Monitor progress, update IEPs, and document student achievements
• Foster an inclusive learning environment and promote student independence
• Partner with families to facilitate consistent learning at home and in the community
