As a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, your expertise will transform educational experiences for students, fostering independence and tailored learning in accessible environments.

What we’re looking for:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Strong knowledge of instructional strategies, adaptive technology, and Braille
  • Experience creating and implementing IEPs and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for advocating for students with visual impairments
  • Previous experience in a school setting is preferred

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with visual impairments
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to adapt curriculum and classroom materials
  • Assist students in developing compensatory skills, including orientation/mobility and assistive technology use
  • Participate in assessments, IEP meetings, and provide progress updates to families and school staff
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment
