Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Previous experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments in educational settings
  • Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive instructional strategies
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Flexibility and dedication to fostering inclusive learning environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative services for students with visual impairments
  • Adapt curriculum and learning materials to meet individual needs
  • Assess student progress and develop or update IEP goals
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and other specialists to support student success
  • Train staff and caregivers on strategies, devices, and resources that aid students with visual impairments
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and federal special education guidelines
