Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Educator Certification and National Certification required
  • Experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in school-based settings strongly preferred
  • Ability to complete a district background check and satisfy all time-sensitive credentialing
  • Adaptable to various caseloads and age groups (specifics TBD)
  • Strong communication skills, teamwork-oriented mindset, and passion for accessible education

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students who are visually impaired, as assigned
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and other specialists to create accessible learning environments
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of individualized educational plans
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed
  • Attend scheduled meetings and training sessions onsite
