Make a meaningful impact by supporting students with visual impairments across elementary and middle school levels at two vibrant school clusters in the Oviedo, FL area. As a passionate educator dedicated to inclusivity and accessibility, you’ll work directly with a carefully managed caseload of K-8 students to foster academic and personal growth.

This full-time, contract role (35 hours per week) spans the upcoming academic year, from August 10, 2026, through May 25, 2027. Travel between two schools each day, providing invaluable support through direct instruction and collaboration with teachers and staff. Specific student assignments and daily schedules may be tailored to your professional background or availability.

Desired Experience and Qualifications

  • Educator Certification and National Certification specific to teaching students with visual impairments (TVI)
  • Previous experience working with K-8 students in educational settings is a plus
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally between schools within a cluster each day
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
  • Successful completion of district-specific background check, fingerprinting, and onboarding forms (time-sensitive)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with visual impairments in K-8 settings
  • Adapt curriculum materials to be accessible, utilizing Braille, large print, and assistive technologies
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to develop and implement IEP goals
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet evolving needs
  • Provide guidance to school teams and families on best practices for inclusion and accessibility
