As a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in this full-time, 6-hour-per-day role, you will function itinerantly, working mainly in a consultative capacity with opportunities to provide direct instruction in braille. This diverse approach allows you to build strong connections with students and staff, making a significant impact while broadening your own professional toolkit.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid credential/certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
  • Experience or training in providing services to visually impaired students
  • Proficiency in braille instruction preferred
  • Strong communication and consultative skills
  • Flexibility to travel between school sites as needed

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver consultative services to students and staff regarding visual impairment needs and accommodations
  • Provide direct instruction in braille and adaptive technology, as required
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in meetings
  • Maintain accurate student records and progress updates
