In this contract opportunity, you'll collaborate with educators, staff, and families to ensure students receive the resources and adaptations they need to succeed in an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Visual Impairment or specialized credential for Teachers of the Visually Impaired.
• Proven experience working with children and adolescents who are visually impaired, preferably within a school setting.
• Strong understanding of adaptive technology, Braille instruction, and accessible educational materials.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and families.
• Ability to assess students’ needs and develop individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations surrounding special education services.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative educational services to students with visual impairments across various grade levels.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
• Teach Braille reading and writing, as well as orientation and mobility skills as appropriate.
• Advise and support general education teachers in adapting curriculum, classroom environments, and instructional strategies.
• Utilize and train students in the use of assistive technologies and accessible learning tools.
• Regularly communicate with parents, guardians, and other team members regarding student progress and strategies for classroom and home support.
• Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance records.
