Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Visually Impaired (VI) Teacher License and Massachusetts DOE certification
  • Successful completion of required MTELs
  • Experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments in a school setting
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to create and adapt instructional materials for diverse learners
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible learning environment

Your Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to the needs of students with visual impairments
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to modify curriculum and ensure accessibility
  • Assess students’ progress and develop IEP goals specific to visual impairment needs
  • Provide direct instruction in Braille, orientation and mobility, and assistive technology as needed
  • Serve as an advocate and resource for families and the educational team
  • Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings
