Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) | Peabody, Massachusetts

Both full-time and part-time availability can be accommodated, and the role is strictly onsite, ensuring daily, hands-on engagement.

Qualifications:

• Current, active Visually Impaired (VI) Teacher License and MA Department of Education license required
• Successful completion of the MTELs
• Expertise in adapting curriculum and utilizing assistive technology for students with visual impairments
• Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and service providers
• Strong communication, organization, and advocacy skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments
• Develop and modify Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to unique student needs
• Employ Braille, large print, and accessible technologies in lesson development and delivery
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and contribute knowledgeable insight to multidisciplinary planning
• Offer consultative services and training to general education staff and families to support best practices for accessibility
