Make a meaningful difference for students by providing critical educational support as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) on a full-time, contractual basis. In this dynamic itinerant role, you’ll work with school-aged children throughout the county, traveling to various school sites to deliver specialized instruction and resources that enhance the educational experience for visually impaired students.

Key Qualifications:

  • State certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Previous experience supporting K-12 students with visual impairments
  • Solid understanding of Braille instruction, assistive technology, and accessibility standards
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability in working at multiple sites within the county
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and small-group instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals
  • Assess student needs and recommend adaptive materials and learning tools
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
  • Consult and provide training to school personnel on best practices for inclusion
  • Travel to multiple school locations to support students in their educational environment
  • Complete assessments, progress reports, and maintain detailed records
  • Work closely with families to support student learning and advocacy
