Empower students to reach their full potential in a supportive educational setting as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. This full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful difference for students with visual impairments in a collaborative and rewarding environment.

In this role, you'll design and implement individualized instructional strategies tailored to the needs of visually impaired learners. You’ll work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to foster an inclusive classroom experience. With two positions available, you’ll join a dedicated group focused on student growth and development.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Valid Texas teaching certification for the visually impaired
  • Thorough knowledge of braille, assistive technology, and adaptive instructional materials
  • Experience creating and modifying Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for visually impaired students
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and parents
  • Commitment to fostering independence, confidence, and educational achievement in students

Responsibilities Include:

  • Delivering direct instruction to students with visual impairments using specialized techniques and materials
  • Assessing students’ needs and providing input for IEP meetings
  • Consulting with teachers and providing training or resources for adapting classroom materials
  • Monitoring and documenting student progress toward instructional goals
  • Supporting students in building self-advocacy skills and accessing their curriculum
