Key Qualifications:

• Previous experience in school settings with K-12 learners preferred
• Proficient in Braille and adaptive technology use for low vision/blind students
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic educational environments

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum and materials to individual needs
• Conduct assessments to determine student eligibility and educational requirements
• Consult with classroom teachers and staff to ensure accessible learning environments
• Serve as a key member of IEP teams, tracking progress and contributing to student goals
• Provide direct instruction in compensatory skills, including Braille, orientation and mobility, and assistive technology use
• Offer ongoing support, training, and resources for families and staff to promote student success
