What you bring:

• Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
• Experience working with students who have visual impairments, ranging from mild to severe
• Strong understanding of Braille instruction, assistive technology, and adapted materials
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with general education staff, families, and specialists
• Organizational skills for managing caseloads and documentation
• Flexibility and creativity in teaching strategies

What you’ll do:

• Assess and address individual student needs through tailored instruction
• Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments
• Support students in accessing the general curriculum and school environment
• Train students in orientation and mobility skills and adaptive devices as applicable
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to maximize student success
• Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and progress monitoring
• Stay updated with best practices and professional development for teaching the visually impaired
