Key Qualifications:

• Active Texas teaching license for the visually impaired is required
• Experience supporting students with visual impairments in an educational environment preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with students, families, and educational teams

• Ability to maintain organized records, develop individualized education plans (IEPs), and monitor student progress

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction, support, and resources for students with visual impairments according to their IEPs
• Adapt and develop curriculum materials and teaching strategies to make them accessible
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success and inclusion
• Assess student needs, progress, and provide appropriate recommendations or referrals
• Participate in meetings and professional development to stay current on best practices in visual impairment education
• Support students’ social and emotional growth, fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment
